We normally take an assorted range of radio equipment with us. In 1991 we even had an amateur television station operating from the island. In recent years however, we have tended to bring less equipment.

2004 Expedition.

During our next trip (19 - 26 June 2004) we should be operational on HF (SSB), 50MHz (FM/SSB) and 144MHz (FM).  This will be the club's 13th visit to the island.

For this trip we are planning to use a two-element beam for 50MHz and a Vertical for 144MHz. For HF we will  use a long wire feeding into an MFJ-949E tuning unit. The rig for HF and 50MHz will be an Icom IC-706 Mk2. For 144MHz a Kenwood TR-751 mobile rig will be used. OK, it's not a great antenna system but it works !

The generator for the island's electrical power is usually turned off shortly after midnight until about 06:00 therefore GB2BLE won't be operational between those times.
